Redefining museology through technological spectacle
The Prado Museum is one of the world’s great museums. It hosts timeless works of art created by those who played an integral part in creating Spain’s character throughout the ages such as Goya, Bosch, Greco, Velazquez, Rubens and others. Innovation has always been at the forefront of the museum’s vision.
We designed, produced and operated an immersive show that celebrates the museum’s classical and modern spirit. The projection took place on the Goya facade of the Villanueva building for several days. And a mapping technique was implemented to integrate projections, laser effects and music. Visitors witnessed a creative spectacle of over 100 works of art from the museum projected onto the facade. This was complemented by a unique soundtrack composed for the event. It was made by Olivier Arson who was the winner of the 2019 Goya Award for the Best Original Soundtrack for the movie, “The Realm”.
By working with the best of what technology, art and music has to offer, the event caught the attention and admiration of 40,000 visitors. They witnessed great works of art come to life.
